Annual Leave Policy

1. Purpose and Scope

All employees are entitled to time off with pay for a vacation or personal reasons. The purpose of this policy is to establish the rules and procedure governing the annual leave/vacation entitlements for all the employees of ACCOUNT_JOB_COMPANY (“Company”).

The policy applies to both full time and part-time employees of the Company (collectively referred to as “Employee”).

2. Eligibility and Entitlement 

(a) The Employees are eligible to apply for annual leave after completing NUMBER_OF_MONTHS months of employment with the Company.

(b) All full-time Employees are entitled to  NUMBERdays per year of annual leave and part-time Employees earn annual leave on a pro-rata basis.

(c) During the annual leave, Employees will receive their normal pay.

(d) The annual leaves are established on a calendar-year basis. If the Employee joins or leaves the Company part way through the calendar year, the leave entitlement will be calculated on a pro-rata basis. 

3. Unused Annual Leave

(a) Employees can accumulate annual leave at the rate of NUMBER_OF_DAYS day per month of their employment with the Company.

(b) Employees are encouraged to use all the annual leave accrued in a calendar year. Any unused annual leave can be carried forward into the next calendar year as long as the total accumulated annual leave of the Employee does not exceed MAXIMUM_NUMBER_OF_DAYS days in that calendar year.

(c) The annual leave will continue to accrue even if the Employee is on sick leave, maternity leave/paternity leave or adoption leave unless otherwise specified by the Company

(d) The Company may require the Employees to use their annual leave entitlements if the accumulated annual leave exceeds MAXIMUM_NUMBER_OF_DAYS days. 

4. Procedure to Schedule Annual Leave

(a) Employees must submit leave requests in writing to their immediate supervisor at least two weeks prior to the proposed start date of the vacation.

(b) All leave requests are subject to the approval of the Employee’s immediate supervisor.

(c) All leave requests are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. In the event of a conflict in leave requests, Employee’s immediate supervisor will consider the Company’s staffing needs as well as the length of service with the Company of the Employees involved.
