Parental Leave Policy

 

1. Purpose and Scope

Parental leave policy is a family-friendly policy that gives parents an opportunity to balance their job and family responsibilities. It allows time off from work to the employees who have become new parents through birth or adoption of a child. 

The parental leave policy sets out the rules and procedure governing the leave entitlements for all the eligible employees of the ACCOUNT_JOB_COMPANY (“Company”). The policy applies to all the full-time employees (“Employee”) of the Company.

2.  Eligibility and Entitlement

    (a) The Employee qualifies for parental leave:

    (b) The Employee is entitled to NUMBER weeks of parental leave after birth or adoption of a child.

    (d) Employees can avail parental leave at any time within 12 month period following the birth and adoption of a child. The parental leave period can be used either continuously or intermittently.

    3.  Benefits

    Employee shall continue to accrue the same benefits including accrual of sick and vacation leave during the parental leave period.

    4.  Procedure

    The Employee must notify the immediate supervisor in writing about the need for parental leave, the duration and the expected start date of the leave period at least four weeks in advance from the start date of the parental leave. 

    5. Additional Leave

    Employees may use any accrued paid time off, vacation and sick leave, as applicable to supplement the parental leave period subject to the approval of the Employee's immediate supervisor.

    6. Misuse of Parental Leave

    If the Employee uses parental leave for any purpose other than those set out in this policy, the Company will have the right to take disciplinary action, including termination of employment, against the Employee.

    7. Termination of Employment

    Upon termination of employment, the Employee will not be entitled to any payments for any unused Parental Leave.
