Bring Your Own Device to Work Policy

About this policy:

We understand that many members of staff at ACCOUNT_JOB_COMPANY have personal electronic devices (such as laptops, smartphones, and tablets), which they would like to use to perform their work-related duties. We believe such usage can lead to benefits to staff members, such as allowing for increased flexibility in working.  

Despite these benefits, permitting the use of personal electronic devices to fulfill work-related responsibilities, increases the security risk to our IT resources, confidential information and reputation.

Any person covered by the scope of this policy may use an approved personal electronic device to fulfill their work-related duties, subject to that person signing the declaration included at the end of this policy and adhering to the terms of this policy.

Whether a person decides to use a personal electronic device is entirely at each person’s discretion. No person is obligated to use their personal electronic devices to fulfill their work-related duties. 

This policy covers all employees, contractors, interns, part-time workers, agency workers and officers.

Certain obligations included in this policy are contractual and form part of your contract of employment. These obligations are clearly identified. All other sections in this policy do not form part of your contract of employment. The remaining sections of this policy do not form part of any employee’s contract of employment and we may amend it at any time, including the contractual obligations that it places on staff, or remove the policy entirely, at any time.

This policy supplements and should be read in conjunction with ACCOUNT_JOB_COMPANY's other policies and procedures put into force from time to time, which are available on the intranet.

Responsible persons for this policy

Overall responsibility for the successful implementation and operation of this policy, including responsibility for the day-to-day operation of this policy, is vested in IMPLEMENTATION_OPERATION.

REVIEW_OF_POLICY shall be responsible for periodically reviewing this policy to determine whether any amendments are required to meet legal obligations or to ensure its efficacious operation.
