The consignment of PROPERTY despatched on DATE was delivered yesterday in a very unsatisfactory condition.
It was clear that some of the cases had been tampered with. Upon checking the contents we found that PARTICULARS.
Before reporting the matter to the railway please confirm that each of these cases contained the invoiced quantity when they left your warehouse. At the same time please replace the missing items with others of the same quality.
You will no doubt be claiming compensation from the railway, in which case we shall be glad to assist you with any information we can provide. Meanwhile, the cases are being held for inspection, together with the contents.
