Dear Sir / Madam,
We regret to report that PARTICULARS covered by your consignment receipt number RECEIPT were delivered to us in a condition that left no doubt of their having been broken into during transit.
This was noticed when the cases were delivered by your carrier and accordingly we added to our receipt ‘Cases damaged; contents not examined’. A later check of the contents revealed a shortage of NUMBER.
The consignment was sent by our suppliers on carrier’s risk terms. Therefore we must hold you responsible for the loss. Our claim is enclosed for the invoiced value of the missing shirts (at PRICE each) which is PRICE_T. In support of our claim, we enclose a certified copy of our supplier’s invoice.
The cases and their contents have been put aside to await your inspection.
