Dear NAME,

I am writing this letter to appeal the decision to disallow my claim for flight delay compensation. I understand that the insurance policy terms and conditions must be adhered to, but I believe that my case warrants a reconsideration.

On [Date] I was scheduled to take a flight from [Origin] to [Destination] with [Flight Number]. Unfortunately, my flight was delayed for [Number] hours due to system failure of the JURISDICTION_STATE Aviation Administration. As a result, I missed my connecting flight scheduled on [Date] from [Origin] to [Destination] with [Flight Number] which caused me significant inconvenience and resulted in extra expenses for accommodation and food.

I filed a claim for compensation under my insurance policy for the financial losses I incurred due to the flight delay. However, I was informed that my claim was disallowed on the grounds that the reason for the delay was not covered under the policy. 

I understand that the policy does not cover certain situations, but I believe that my case falls strictly within the policy. The system failure of the JURISDICTION_STATE Aviation Administration resulted in the cancellation of all flights to the [Name] airport for more than HOURS hours (which should be classified as a form of airport closure) from the time specified in the itinerary.

The delay was not within my control, and I was left stranded in a foreign country without any assistance from the airline. I had to bear the cost of accommodation, food, and other expenses, which were not planned for, and I believe that my claim for compensation is valid.

I request you to review my case once again and consider the exceptional circumstances that I had to face. I hope that you will reconsider your decision and provide me with the compensation that I am entitled to under my policy. 

Otherwise it may result in bad publicity for NAME if words get out to the press that NAME is refusing to pay a claim in a situation that most reasonable customers believe would be covered by travel insurance. This will also result in the loss of business from my family. We have been customers of NAME for more than 10 years and also have other long term relationships with NAME
