DocPro is a community where members can find, request, share and comment on commonly used documents in Doc format. The documents are reviewed and converted into easy to use templates by legal professionals, with a step-by-step guide for automated completion and export of Word documents. About Us
DocPro offers a variety of commonly used documents including legal contracts, business and personal correspondence, corporate resolutions, checklists and guides etc. The templates are general enough to be used in most common law jurisdictions. You can search for available templates through the search box at DocPro.com , narrow your search to different categories of documents, or browse through different types of documents such as contracts, letters, minutes, etc.
If you cannot find the document you need, please let us know through the “Request a document” function. Please note the following priority will be given for document request – 1. Platinum Member; 2. Gold Member; 3. Silver Member and 4. Associate Member.
DocPro is not just a professional documents provider. We are creating a community where members can find, request, share and comment on commonly used documents in Doc format.
1. Encourage Sharing and Commenting on Documents
DocPro awards members for sharing useful documents that are not already on DocPro with Document Credits (Prokens). DocPro also awards members who can provide constructive comments on existing documents in its documents database with Prokens. Therefore, our library of templates is constantly expanding and improving. The documents are reviewed and converted into easy to use templates by legal professionals, with a step-by-step guide for automated completion and export of Word documents.
2. Different Forms of Document
Finding a template online is not always easy – even with the right document, depending on which side a person is on, different people will have different needs. Unless you have legal background, you may not be able to tell if a document you find online is drafted in your favour. For example, in relation to a tenancy agreement, a tenant would want a form that is prepared for the benefits of the tenant. Yet most tenancy agreements available online are drafted in favour of the landlord, which a tenant may inadvertently download and use without knowing. This may put the tenant in a very unfavourable position in a negotiation / dispute. DocPro clearly indicates the form of the document you are choosing from, for example, whether it is in favour of Landlord, Tenant or Neutral. This will put you in a better starting position when negotiating a document with a counterparty. For the avoidance of doubt, the documents provided by DocPro are for general reference only and do not constitute legal or professional advice.
3. Common Law Jurisdiction Selection Engine
Most templates providers are jurisdiction specific (mostly in the U.S.), which means that their documents are incompatible with other jurisdictions. DocPro documents are drafted in general terms and can be used in most common law jurisdictions with English as the official language. DocPro has a proprietary jurisdiction selection engine to pick an appropriate jurisdiction for the document base on the domiciles of the parties. DocPro will also select whether it is appropriate to go to Court or Arbitration depending on the nature of the document and the jurisdictions of the parties.
4. DocPro does not Sell your Personal Data Online
5. DocPro database covers all documents, not just legal contracts
DocPro understands that most members would only need legal documents once in a blue moon. We therefore do not restrict our library to only legal contracts but open it to all types of documents such as complaint letters, applications, invitations, requests etc. We hope that our members can return to DocPro community on a regular basis to download and / or contribute documents.
The easiest way is to type in one or more keywords in the search box and click search to see if DocPro has the document you are looking for. The documents that are most relevant (with the most number of keywords hits) will appear at the top of the list. If too many search results appear, you may wish to narrow your search by going to “Create Document” and filter your search on the basis of: 1. Business / Personal document; 2. Types of documents (e.g. agreement, correspondence, minutes etc.); or 3. Categories of documents (e.g. employment, setup, intellectual property etc.).
Another way is to filter the search results through typing in keywords in the boxes under “Document Name”, “Form” or “Types”. “Document Name” is the title of the document. “Form” means the same document may be in different forms. For example, a tenancy agreement may have 3 forms - one in favour of the landlord, one in favour of the tenant, and a neutral form. Please pick the right form for your specific circumstances. You can also refer to the “Description” to see if it is the document you are looking for.
You can browse by selecting the categories of documents if you are not certain which document(s) would fulfil your needs. First you choose business or personal document and select from the main category using the dropdown menu. You may then click on “search” or further filter by sub-category before clicking on the “search”. All the relevant documents under the selected category or sub-category will appear in the search results.
Another way to browse the templates library is by “Document Type”. The documents are categorised into different types of documents such as Agreements, Letter, Deed, Minutes etc. Clicking on the type of document you are looking for will show you all relevant documents under each Document Type. This method may be more cumbersome for certain Document Types with high number of documents (such as Agreements / Contracts or Letters / Correspondence).
Once you have identified the document, click on the name of the document and you will be taken to a document summary page with more detailed descriptions of the document and number of credits (Prokens) it would cost to create the document. If it is the document that best fit your circumstance, please press “Create Document” to get started. document summary page with more detailed descriptions of the document and number of credits (Prokens) it would cost to create the document. If it is the document that best fit your circumstance, please press “Create Document” to get started.
If you have not registered or log in, DocPro will ask you to sign up or log in first. Please complete your registration with genuine personal and business information as they will be used by DocPro to autofill documents later. This will save you time from having to retype information such as name and address each time when you create a new document.
For multi-parties documents such as agreements or contracts, you will be asked to complete the details for each party. You can choose to complete using the personal or business information you have registered with DocPro by clicking the “Fill using Member’s Information” button. For single party documents such as letters or correspondence, the documents will automatically be filled with the member’s information without requiring further information from the party.
DocPro will tailor the document to suit your need by asking you a series of relevant questions relating to the document you are creating. The document will be customised in accordance with the responses you give. Please note that the document is provided for reference only and does not constitute legal or professional advice. You should seek separate legal representation if necessary.
After completing all of the questions, you will be informed how many Prokens (credits) the document is worth (between 1-3 Prokens depending on the complexity of the document). These Prokens will be deducted from your account when you click on the “Get Document” button. If you do not have a sufficient number of Prokens to proceed, you will be directed to the “Buy More Prokens” page to get more Prokens.
After you have purchased the document, it will be saved to your account under the list of “My Templates”. You can export the document in Doc (i.e. Word) format or come back and edit the document at any time.
You can make changes to any document you have created on DocPro through the “Edit” button under the “My Templates” page. First log on to your Membership account if you have not already done so. You will then be directed to an editor where you can make changes to the document online. The latest version of your document will be saved in your account.
Another way is to press the “Export” button to download the document in Doc format and then use a word processing software such as “Microsoft Word” or “Open Office” to edit the document. However, latest changes would not be saved to DocPro should you wish to retrieve or replicate the document in the future.
You can replicate a document by pressing the “Replicate” button and change the details to another party. However, if you would like to have a different form of the document or be taken through the series of questions again, you will need to “Create Document” again and Prokens will be deducted.
If you would like to share a document by e-mail, go to “My Templates” and press the “Share” button. Select whether you would like to share the document in Doc or PDF form. Insert one or more e-mail addresses and the document will be shared with the people under those e-mail addresses.
If you would like to negotiate a document with a counterparty through DocPro, you can go to “Negotiate Document” page. Press the “Send” button to send a link of the document to one or more Counterpart(ies). The Counterpart(ies) can comment on the document online through DocPro. You will receive notification after comments made by Counterparty. Press the “Review” button to review comments from Counterparty and accept or reject such changes.
You can further edit the document through the “Edit” button. Counterparties will be notified of any further such further edit through e-mail. Once the document has been agreed, you can press the “Download” button and download the document in PDF form and send to Counterparty for signature.
Please go to our “Free Membership” page or “Free Sign Up” button at the top right hand corner of the page and register for Free Associate Membership. To get started, please insert your name, e-mail and password. You will receive 3 Prokens (credits) for document(s) creation.
