A Child Support Agreement is between the parents to determine the amount and responsibility for child support payments. The Agreement is drafted in favour of the Father.
The mother is responsible for making the child support payments, insurance premium and education-related expenses for the Child until the Child reaches the age of majority
This Agreement comes into play when the parties agree to modify to the Child Support Order passed by the court due to a substantial change in the circumstances. This Agreement is not legally binding until approved by the Court.
This document should be carefully read by the Individual Father and Mother.
The amount of child support and the reasons for modifying the child support order should be clearly stated.
Both parties should sign and return a copy, and once signed, both parties should get a copy. To avoid any future disputes, both parties may wish to have their signatures witnessed.
